J. Michael Crant, MBA, PhD
Michael Crant is senior faculty member in the Department of Management at the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. He is internationally known for his research on proactive behavior at work and has developed the “proactive personality scale,” which is the most frequently used measure of proactivity in the field of management. He holds both a BS in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Florida, and earned his PhD in Organizational Behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

James S. O’Rourke, IV, MA, MS, PhD
James O’Rourke teaches management and corporate communication at the University of Notre Dame, where he is a Professor of Management and Director of the Eugene D. Fanning Center for Business Communication. He is the author of numerous books, as well as the principal author or directing editor of more than 150 management and corporate communication case studies. Dr. O’Rourke is a trustee of both The Arthur W. Page Society and the Institute for Public Relations. He is a member of the Reputation Institute and the Management Communication Association, and is a regular consultant to Fortune 500 and mid-size businesses throughout North America. He holds a BBA from Notre Dame, an MA from University of New Mexico, an MS from Temple University and a PhD in Communication from the S. I. Newhouse School of Syracuse University.

William D. Nichols, MBA, PhD
Bill Nichols is a Professor of Accounting at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, where he also served as Associate Dean for Graduate Programs from 1995 – 2000 and Associate Dean for Faculty and Budget from 2002 – 2008. He is a four-time recipient of the Outstanding Teacher of the Year award, and has published numerous articles in accounting and finance journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Auditing and Finance, among others. Dr. Nichols holds both a BBA and an MBA from Western Michigan University, and earned his PhD from Florida State University.

Jeffrey H. Bergstrand, MA, PhD
Jeffrey Bergstrand is a Professor of Finance in Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, a Fellow of Notre Dame’s Kellogg Institute for International Studies and a Research Associate of CESifo (an international network of researchers in the field of economics). His research on international trade flows, free trade agreements, foreign direct investment and multinational firms has been published in dozens of articles in leading industry journals. Prior to his academic career at Notre Dame, where he has been teaching for more than 20 years, Dr. Bergstrand was a Research Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He earned his BA in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University and holds both an MA and a PhD in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.

Janet L. O’Tousa, MBA
Janet O’Tousa teaches in the Department of Accountancy at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. She holds a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine, and began her career as a Research Technician. She later pursued an interest in business and taxes working for the Internal Revenue Service as a Taxpayer Service Representative and as an Auditor. Dr. O’Tousa subsequently earned her MBA from the University of Notre Dame, where she has been teaching introductory financial and managerial accounting courses for 20 years. She serves as the Faculty Advisor for Beta Alpha Psi, the international accounting honorary society, and as a mentor for students in Notre Dame’s Taxpayer Assistance Program.

Rajan Kamath, MBA, PhD
Rajan Kamath, founder of Artesiaa Consulting Group, has served as a consultant for some of the world’s leading companies: HaasTCM, Thomson, Toyota Motor Company in Japan, Toyota Motor Manufacturing of North America, Procter and Gamble, Cabot Microelectronics, General Motors - Mexico, Convergys, BPCL-India, Milacron, Inc., Hill-Rom, TriHealth, Inc. and Aventis. Dr. Kamath earned his PhD in Strategy from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK) and an MBA with a specialization in Finance from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB).

John A. Halloran, MBA, PhD
John Halloran is an Associate Professor of Finance at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, where he also served as Director of the Center for Research in Banking from 1994 to 1999. Dr. Halloran co-authored the textbook Financial Management: An Introduction to Principles and Practice, and his research has been published in The Journal of Banking and Finance, The Journal of Finance, Financial Management and The Financial Review. He has led numerous executive education seminars in the areas of corporate finance and financial management for organizations such as Bayer, IBM, TTX, LANXESS, OfficeMax and Seminarium, and has received teaching awards for his work with executives, MBA students and undergraduates. Dr. Halloran holds a BS from St. Louis University as well as an MBA and a PhD in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis.

Debra M. Desrochers, MBA, PhD
Debra Desrochers is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Mendoza College of Business. Her research focuses on the impact of specific marketing activities and practices on today’s markets and the consumer, with significant attention on the policy issues surrounding food marketing. Dr. Desrochers has published articles in the Journal of Retailing and the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, and has presented her research at numerous conferences. Prior to attending graduate school, she became an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and worked as an actuary at UNUM Life Insurance Company in Portland, Maine. Dr. Desrochers holds a BS in Mathematics from Bates College as well as an MBA and a PhD from the William E. Simon Graduate School at the University of Rochester.

James H. Davis, MEd, MBA, PhD
Jim Davis, Associate Professor of Management and Director at Notre Dame’s Gigot Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, is an expert in family business, entrepreneurship, corporate governance, strategic planning, trust and organizational social capital. The author of numerous articles, case studies and presentations, he was named Inspirational Teacher of the Year for his work in Notre Dame’s executive programs. Dr. Davis has also received a presidential citation for his contributions to the University of Notre Dame. He holds BA and MEd degrees from Brigham Young University, an MBA from Idaho State University and a PhD from the University of Iowa.

Joseph A. Holt, JD
Joe Holt is the Director for Executive Ethics in the Executive Education program at the Mendoza College of Business. A former Jesuit seminarian and priest, Dr. Holt earned his Series 7 license and briefly worked as a stockbroker before enrolling in law school. Following his graduation, he worked on death-row appeal cases at the Northwestern University School of Law's Bluhm Legal Clinic and spent five years as a corporate attorney with major law firms in Chicago and Denver.
Prior to joining Notre Dame’s full-time faculty in 2004, Dr. Holt was an adjunct instructor in the University of Notre Dame Chicago EMBA program and served as a Senior Lecturer in Law and Director of the Clinic on Entrepreneurship at The University of Chicago Law School. He holds a BA in Political Science from Boston College as well as graduate degrees in Philosophy from Fordham University, Theology from the Weston School of Theology, and Biblical Theology from the Gregorian University in Rome. He earned his JD from Harvard Law School in 1996.

Joel E. Urbany, MA, PhD
Joe Urbany is Professor of Marketing at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, where he also previously served as Associate Dean of Graduate Programs. His research focuses on information economics, managerial decision-making and strategy, and buyer behavior. Dr. Urbany’s work has appeared in the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science, Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review, among others, and he has been quoted in U.S. News & World Report and USA Today. He has served on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Consumer Research and Marketing Letters and is currently co-editor of Marketing Letters.
Dr. Urbany has consulted and conducted executive education programs for a wide variety of organizations and state governments. He has won teaching awards at both Ohio State University and the University of South Carolina, and was honored with a “Most Popular Professor” rating in the BusinessWeek assessment of Notre Dame’s MBA programs. He has also served as a fellow for the Kaneb Institute for Teaching Excellence at Notre Dame. Dr. Urbany is a graduate of Ohio State University, where he earned a BS in Business Administration, an MA in Marketing with a concentration in Research Methodology and a PhD in Marketing with a minor in Quantitative Psychology.
