Nonprofit Executive Faculty

Jimmie R. Alford, LLD, LHD

Jimmie Alford | University of Notre Dame

Jimmie Alford spent 16 years with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago before founding his own fundraising consulting firm. Widely considered to be a pioneer in the nonprofit sector, Alford was recognized twice by the NonProfit Times as “one of the 50 most influential people in the not-for-profit sector." Alford wrote and lectured extensively on issues affecting the not-for-profit sector and performed dual roles as editor and chapter author for the book, Building and Managing an Asset Base, published by the Indiana University Center on Philanthropy’s New Directors for Philanthropic Fundraising program.

The nonprofit industry mourned Jimmie Alford’s passing in December 2012, but his legacy lives on in the many works that he left behind, including his video lecture contribution only accessible through Notre Dame's Fundraising & Grant Strategies certificate course and Leading Nonprofit Boards course.
