Mendoza College of Business Expands their Nonprofit Professional Development Programs

The business of nonprofits is constantly evolving to keep pace with the world’s ever-increasing complexity, thereby creating the need for a new type of leader who can both manage and create positive, sustainable social change. Individuals can now gain the business, leadership and managerial skills vital to increasing their own effectiveness with the new Executive Certificate in Transformational Nonprofit Leadership, conveniently available online from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.

This 100 percent online program will teach professionals how to combine a “servant heart” with a strong business mind. The program itself is comprised of three eight-week courses: Principles of Leading Transformational Nonprofits, Leading Nonprofit Boards and Fundraising and Grant Strategies. Professionals will learn key nonprofit business skills, including leading transformational change for positive societal impact, managing interpersonal relations between board members to increase organizational effectiveness, and advocacy skills to maximize recruitment and fundraising success.

“Those seeking to expand upon their own professional talents or optimize their nonprofit’s effectiveness often realize they would do well to gain nonprofit sector specific business and leadership skills,” said Marc Hardy, Ph.D., the director of Nonprofit Executive Education at Notre Dame. “By adding this online executive certificate program to our ground-based nonprofit programs, the Mendoza College of Business offers an excellent solution to acquiring these skills.”

Notre Dame faculty members with master’s and doctoral-level degrees will provide invaluable knowledge and insight via video-based lectures that can be viewed online or downloaded to mobile devices. Participants and faculty also will collaborate using interactive tools such as discussion boards, email and chat rooms, all powered by University Alliance. As this executive certificate is offered by the university’s Mendoza College of Business – ranked the #1 Undergraduate Business School by Bloomberg Businessweek and ranked among the top 20 best undergraduate business programs by U.S. News & World Report – participants can have peace-of-mind, knowing they are earning a credential of great value.
