This course concentrates on further developing your understanding of board development, management roles, strategic issues and the responsibilities of nonprofit board members. You’ll learn what it means to effectively manage the important relationship between an organization’s executive members and board members.

Fundraising & Grant Strategies

Fundraising & Grant Strategies is the third and final eight-week online course in the Executive Certificate in Transformational Nonprofit Leadership series. This course shifts the focus from leadership skills to the practicalities of raising funds. You will delve into a myriad of concepts behind successful fundraising and grant writing. You will also explore the diverse philanthropic landscape and master key strategies essential for raising capital. You will also learn the steps to prepare, write and manage the outcomes of your proposals.

Effective Grant Proposal Writing

Effective Grant Proposal Writing guides you through every phase of creating a successful grant, from preparation through post-submittal follow up. Start by discovering how to apply key funding research tools in a practical manner and recognize factors contributing to successful funding efforts in areas including social, religion, arts and sciences, international and education. Then, take advantage of a unique opportunity to create your own grant proposal that can potentially be funded at the end of the course. You’ll also review peer proposals as you consider how grant narrative elements can influence funders’ decisions. At the conclusion of the course, one participant will be awarded $500 toward their winning grant proposal.
